We Become What We Behold

We Become What We Behold

We Become What We Behold is a casual point-and-click game all about news cycles, or rather, vicious cycles, and infinite cycles. Capture moments with your camera in this 5-minute game and see how the squares and circles react! How to Play We Become What We BeholdThe game features multiple characters randomly walking about on the screen. The only move you can make is to photograph these characters. When you aim and shoot, the photo you capture appears in the middle of the screen and is displayed on a small TV for all to see. So be careful what you decide to publicize, as this is the gist of the game."We become what we behold. We shape our tools, and then our tools shape us."The game begins with this quote, which encapsulates the essence of the game. Characters to PhotographThere are several characters in the game. Most of the characters at the beginning are comprised of "normal peeps" with square and round heads. You'll find a few stragglers in the group, like a couple in love, a man with a hat, an angry man, and a cricket. Fancy Man With The HatOne of the first characters to enter the "normal peeps" is the man with the hat. It's hard not to take a photo of him since all other photos of normal peeps are less than satisfying regarding what happens when their photos are on display. When you take a photo of the man with the hat, and all the other characters see that photo, every normal peep now wants to wear a hat. Normal Peeps With A HatWhen you photograph a normal peep with a hat, you see the chain reaction in full effect. Suddenly, no one wants to wear a hat anymore. It's become too popular.Couple In LoveWhen you photograph the couple in love, and they are on public display, they will soon be shamed. And you will likely not see many couples in love roam the streets much anymore. After all, "Who tunes in to watch people get along?"Angry PersonThis is where it gets interesting. When you photograph the angry person, if you don't catch them yelling at anyone, you will be urged to "catch 'em while they're doing something." The only thing they do is yell, so that is something you're looking for. Take a photo of them yelling, and the media frenzy begins, aka crazed square attacks. Anger and Fear Multiply Faster Than Love In This GameOnce you capture anger in a photo, it's hard to return to normalcy. The regular peeps will become increasingly afraid of each other, snub each other, and then the squares and circles start turning against each other. When the normal peeps turn red, they begin to hate each other. When this happens, and you photograph it, violence and hatred begin spiraling toward a violent climax.Peculiarity of We Become What We BeholdA small exercise in social critique, this game is unique in many ways.It can be entirely played in five minutes. The developer is an indie personality: Nicky Case, a Canadian game developer and web designer. Born in Singapore, her work often has an educational scope, as she's trying to "help people understand complex systems". She makes all of her work available on her personal website and provides users who are willing to with easy ways to support her work. The game is freely usable by anyone on the web. Nicky Case decided to hold zero rights to it for herself, with the objective of helping the game spread as widely as possible across the web. With "We Become What We Behold", she aims to expose the vicious circles often generated in society by the so-called "Yellow Journalism".TipCrickets are just crickets. Bubble Shooter

Bubble Shooter

Bubble Shooter is a popular casual game that combines simple mechanics with an addictive rewards system. Based on the arcade classic Puzzle Bobble (1994), Bubble Shooter challenges players to aim and shoot a bubble cannon to clear as many colorful bubbles off the screen as possible. Don’t be fooled, this is a relaxing game, but it can also quickly become a challenge when you realize the further you progress, the more you will need to combine strategy and timing. The real challenge is putting this game down once you start! How to Play Bubble ShooterYou may have already come across Bubble Shooter, as it is potentially one of the most popular casual games out there. Don’t believe us? Look over your shoulder next time you’re on public transport. The Bubble Shooter game uses simple match-3 mechanics. The screen begins filled with colorful bubbles, and at the bottom, you control a shooter loaded with a single colored bubble. Your goal is to aim and fire it at bubbles of the same color, forming a cluster of three or more. When matched, the bubbles burst and disappear, freeing up space on the board. The round is won when all bubbles are cleared. Be careful, as the growing cluster will fall too far and hit the bottom of the screen if it falls too far, resulting in a loss of the round.Always look for “hanging” bubbles. These are bubbles that support other clusters of bubbles below them. Pop that one, and they all fall, rewarding you with even more points. Speaking of PointsYour primary goal is to clear the board, but to get there, you will have to pop as many bubbles as possible before the ceiling of bubbles falls in on you. Every bubble you pop earns you points, but not all pops earn the same number of points. The more complex your bubble shoots are, the more points you earn. For instance, shooting one bubble will earn you fewer points than shooting one that supports a series of other bubbles.Using fewer shots or clearing levels quickly often earns you more points, but also keep in mind that wasted shots will count against you. So if you throw a bubble randomly against another color, you’re more likely to trigger a ceiling fall, which will bring you closer to the end of the round, giving you little space. After five misses, a new row drops from the ceiling. You can see the balls in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.Be Warned, Bubble Shooter Is Addictive There are plenty of reasons Bubble Shooter is so popular. It has no storyline, it’s pretty easy to learn to play, and its reward system keeps you challenging yourself in your last best game.Bubble Shooter TipsBe careful not to bundle too many different bubble colors together. The more bubble colors, the harder it is to make matches.Avoid ceiling falls. Faster descending ceilings increase time pressure.Shoot in the crevices. Some complex layouts may seem impossible, but clever bank shots are very possible, and you get to fill in the gaps and break apart complex clusters.Aim at the walls to get a better angle. The ball will ricochet off the wall and into the smallest of gaps.Plan ahead. You can see the next color you will be given. Let that guide your moves. The Original Bubble ShooterThere are numerous versions of Bubble Shooter, most of which trace back to Puzzle Bobble, created by Taito in 1994, a spinoff of Bubble Bobble (1986). Puzzle Bobble’s two-player arcade dynamics instantly brought it to the top of the game charts and made it a universal frenzy in the mid-'90s.In 2002, Absolutist Ltd., a Ukrainian studio, released Bubble Shooter for PC, creating a single-player Flash game experience. In 2015, Ilyon Dynamics Ltd., an Israeli studio, bought the rights and launched Bubble Shooter for mobile. It rapidly expanded with thousands of puzzle levels, missions, and even tournaments. Taito maintained the popular game, releasing Puzzle Bobble Everybubble! for Nintendo Switch in 2023.More Games Like ThisFor similar titles, you can browse our bubble shooter games.
